Here we present examples of timber trusses that can be used in roof frames.
Each truss is designed individually depending on the span dimensions, type of support, loads on the truss from roofing materials and precipitation. The cross-sections of the timber and its location, the size of the plates and their position will differ in each project.
But the outlines of the trusses for typical solutions will be similar.
Single-pitched trusses
Single-pitched trusses can be an independent formative element for a pitched roof, or one of the elements of a more complex frame.
Parallel chord trusses
Parallel-cord trusses can be used for both interfloor floors and roofs. They look similar from the outside, but there is a difference and it is based on engineering calculations. When designing an interfloor floor, the vibration frequency of the structure is additionally taken into account to avoid resonance.
The flat roof truss has a subtle slope for internal drainage.
Gable trusses
Symmetrical truss
Asymmetrical truss
Attic truss
Arches
Trapezoidal truss.
Trapezoidal trusses are used for hipped roofs. With a sufficient roof pitch, you can create an attic or mansard floor in the roof space..
Truss scissors
The scissor trusses add architectural expressiveness to the interior. They can be used to create a sloping ceiling. Open trusses look especially charming in long-span buildings, such as gyms or horse riding arenas.
Dome and radial structures
These types of structures do not have typical outlines, but are often used in roof elements.
