Wooden structures for the construction of cowsheds
In this article we will consider the actual options for the use of wooden structures in the construction of barns and other structures for cattle.

Reconstruction and restoration of old barns.

Wooden trusses can cover significant spans – up to 30 m between walls without intermediate supports. Due to this, it is possible to expand the interior space of the premises, removing the interfering supports, and use the vacant space more rationally.
Construction of modern cowsheds.
In classical cowsheds with drafts, milk yields were significantly reduced than in pavilions adapted for cold keeping. It is known that cows tolerate frost better than heat, so they need dry and cool air saturated with oxygen. For the construction of a barn, our structures are the best suited.
In countries with developed agriculture (Canada, Holland, Germany, Czech Republic) most farms are built of wood, which has a good level of thermal insulation and creates a favorable microclimate inside. In such a room it is not cold in winter and not hot in summer. Wood is characterized by low thermal conductivity, so condensation does not settle on it in such quantity as on metal structures. In the ammonia environment of the barn, steel is quickly destroyed, and wood, on the contrary, gains strength. Wooden structures are much lighter than others – 12m long trusses weigh about 120 kg. Therefore, wooden barns of the new type do not require such a powerful foundation as for brick or reinforced concrete structures. Wood can be combined with any material, so it is easy to make extensions with its help, gradually expanding production.
Advantages of using modern wooden structures for cowsheds.

About the reliability of wooden structures.
Since barns are large premises, they are covered mainly with metal, reinforced concrete and wooden trusses. Between these options, the cheapest is wooden structures using Mitek technology, which are not inferior to analogues either in durability or in strength.
